With 30 years of marine industry experience, Gerard has been involved in senior leadership, project management and technical supervision in marine product design engineering and shipyard production.

Key contributions have been in:

• Multi-disciplinary design considerations
• Construction philosophy & Optimization
  (including complex / turnkey project management)
• Workplace safety health assessment & promotions
• Quality management system audit and review
• Contract management

As an Independent Marine Consultant, Gerard engages the Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) transport market with ship management support solutions. This only extending his marine environment sustainability contributions after an illustrious career as the pioneering Assistant Vice President (New Products Division) Sembcorp Marine Repairs & Upgrades (SCMRU), Singapore.

Gerard had previously served as Senior Commercial & Operations Manager (Technology Development & Solutions Division), Production Manager (Section Head Pipe & Boiler Department) and Project Manager (Ship Repair & Conversion) with Sembawang Shipyard Pte Ltd, Singapore.

The above is complimented with operational experience as a Naval Captain (military deck officer / marine asset surveyor) and Chartered Engineer (marine / mechanical engineering) recognition from IMarEST (United Kingdom Engineering Council).

Furthermore, Gerard holds a Master of Science degree in Marine Technology from Newcastle University (United Kingdom) and a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical and Production Engineering) from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).
